Suranne Jones

Sarah Anne Jones, better well-known as Suranne Jones, is an actress and producer born in England. Her fame has been built by acting as Ruth Slater in the miniseries 'Unforgiven', Detective Rachel Bailey in the police procedural drama 'Scott & Bailey", as well as G.P. Gemma Foster in the medical drama "Doctor Foster". Jones originates of Chadderton within Greater Manchester, joined Oldham Theatre Workshop at the age of eight, where she was awarded the BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts. In a stage production of Wait Until Dark, she appeared as Gloria when she was just eight years old. In 1997 she made her first appearance on screen in a 'Coronation Street' episode. The following year, she portrayed Karen McDonald in the series. The years that followed her departure from ITV's soap, she appeared in a number of characters in television shows including "Vincent", 'Strictly Confessional" as well as Harley Street.
